langzi I dumped a girl recently.
It wasn't looks. She was pretty well put together - five foot three, about 110 pounds, nice milky complexion, soft body without too much baby fat left at 24 years old, 34B, long curly hair (kind of red and kind of brown). Some people might use the term eye candy.
It wasn't personality, either. She was a nice, mellow relaxed person. She was intelligent (just finished a degree in biology). She was a Democrat (like me). She even likes football. What else could you ask for, right?
So my problem? I was at her house one day, flipping through her Direct TV Texas program package and I realized that she had a different sports package than I did. We're sitting in El Paso, and she's subscribed to a package that lets her see every game that the Oklahoma Sooners play.
I thought, "OMG! I dating a Sooner!?!" As a proud Texas Longhorn, that pretty much ended the relationship. It was just a good thing I figured it out before rivalry week.

l . e . o Portland, Oregon: The City Of Roses. If that does not tell you that Portland is for lovers, then let me tell you more.
Portland is my number one place for a romantic getaway. The city has so much to offer all of your senses that you will fall in love all over again. The smell of flowers is every where; stroll arm in arm through the vibrant riverside market place; dine outside at one of the countless fabulous restaurants. Portland is home to one of the largest bookstores in the world. Powell's Books has a main base in downtown Portland and several specialized bookstores across the river. The main base takes up a city block.
Portland is a place where you do not have a care in the world. Enjoy the passion it offers by leaving all your worries at home. And while you are at it, pay attention to your home security before you leave and enjoy true peace of mind. Make sure you have left your home locked; cancelled your newspaper; alerted neighborhood watch you will be away; and have your sister take the dog for a few days. Home security equals peace of mind. Leave your mind free to revel in the senses of a romantic getaway.

B*2 A friend of mine just got back from her honeymoon trip to San Francisco. When I asked her about lodging I was surprised to hear she stayed in an apartment. Apparently there are many short term San Francisco apartments available for vacationing.
From my own visits and what Mindy told me I have to say that San Francisco is one of the most romantic cities in North America. The last time my husband I went there we really enjoyed all the beautiful sites and fun romantic accommodations. The pictures Mindy showed me of the apartment were beautiful.
The place was one bedroom, a huge king sized bed, and a jacuzzi tub. There was a fireplace, though you probably never need in San Fran, and a fantastic view. There was a large walk out balcony that was covered in blooming flowers and small fruit trees. There was even a shaded bed on the balcony that was surrounded by blooming flowers from which you could see the tops of many buildings.
The owners of the apartment even went so far as to set up a special all inclusive honeymoon package. Mindy and Todd had a visit from a massage therapist and breakfast in bed delivered by a nearby diner each morning. The amenities were fantastic and it really didn't cost them anymore than a luxury hotel.

irene. Lake Tahoe is one of the most beautiful places in the United States. The beauty and majesty of Lake Tahoe are hard to beat. My husband and I visited Lake Tahoe for a little while after our wedding and it was by far one of the most impressive places we have ever stayed. I defintely could not leave Lake Tahoe out of my romantic get-a-way blog.
When we went to Lake Tahoe it was early summer. The weather was warm but much cooler than our own home in the deep south. The water was clear and the moutains were beautiful.
I was amazed at how much privacy could be found in the area. Being a touristy type location I figured it would be completey crowded, drowning out the natural romance of the place. It wasn't like that at all.
There were a variety of Lake Tahoe rentals available. We were able to rent a house during our stay. It really wasn't much more than the cost of a luxury hotel. Everything was provided and it was two bedrooms and two baths. There was a balcony from which you could see nothing but snow capped mountains. It was absolutely breathtaking.
We spent our time hiking and even camped out under the stars a few nights. During our hiking we hardly ever passed other hikers. It was so quiet and romantic. Just the sound of chirping birds. We even found a nearly secluded beach. It was amazing. I hope we get to go back one day soon.
