Cook Islands

Kia Orana can be used as a greeting or a goodbye because it means 'may you live long' and visitors to the Cook Islands could well live longer simply because they have experienced the lack of stress known as 'island time'.
The beautiful beaches, blue-green lagoons, swaying palm trees and friendly locals will certainly intrigue you. The Cooks are largely unspoiled by tourism. They offer a rare opportunity for people from the cities of the world to experience a different type of vacation. There are no high-rise hotels and very little hype. Ideal for travelers seeking more than the usual cliches associated with the South Seas, each island has its unique qualities and offers the visitor a special experience.
You'll find disco and live music to dance to at many of the nightspots; Trader Jack's, Staircase, Banana Court on Rarotonga. An 'Island Night' should be on all visitors' list of things to do, vibrant, colorful, sensual, it's hard to believe these dancers attend church on Sundays. The Staircase Restaurant in Avarua has Island Night on Thursdays and a number of resorts offer them throughout the week. The Samade Bar on Aitutaki has Island Night on Tuesdays, Crushers on Thursdays and the Pacific Resort on Friday nights.
