In my teen days, I first read the world Acapulco in romance novels. Well I guess every curious teener has read a romance novel or two right?

Anyway...Acapulco or Acapulco de Juarez is a city, municipality and major sea port in the state of Guerrero on the Pacific coast of Mexico. Some 300 kilometers (190 mi) southwest from Mexico City. It was made famous in the 1950s as a getaway for Hollywood celebrities and millionaires.

Today Acapulco still attracts travelers and honeymooners the world over for it's famous luxury hotels and bustling night life. Acapulco is one of Mexico's oldest coastal tourist destinations. Various U.S airlines fly to Acapulco Airport the whole year, so getting there from the US won't be any problem.

Have you been to Acapulco?

Romantic Santorini

Romantic Santorini

For me, the ultimate romantic destination is not Venice nor Paris. It's not even Bali. For romantic getaways it has just to be Santorini, Greece.

Santorini is a small, circular archipelago of volcanic islands about 200 kilometers Southeast from Greece's mainland. Essentially, Santorini is what remains of an enormous volcanic explosion which destroyed the earliest settlements on what was formerly a single island, thereby leading to the creation of the current geological caldera.

In it's creation alone, the place is already exciting. It has one of the most spectacular landscapes in Greece and in the world. The places Thira and Oia should not be missed when in Santorini. Oia has the most famous and stunning sunsets in the whole word.

Hang on to your boyfriend or husband right this minute and plan your trip to Santorini already! It doesn't matter if you are staying for just a weekend or the whole week, it will surely be a lot of fun.

When it comes to going on romantic weekend getaways with my husband, If given a choice I almost always pick Cheaha State Park.

This simple mountain park in North Alabama is overlooked by many. However, we have been to state parks all over the US and this is by far one of our favorites.

The natural beauty of this area which includes spectacular mountain views, a cute chapel, tons of privacy, and a waterfall make it highly romantic on its own. Add to that the fact that this park offers secluded log cabin style honeymoon cottages that include fireplaces and whirlpool baths and you have an incredible romantic getaway.

The prices for these cabins are around the same as a hotel in most major cities. Cheaha is surrounded by beauty. For miles around the area is nothing but nature preservation at its best. Equally impressive Talladega National Forest picks up where Cheaha State Park leaves off.

If you are looking for a romantic, outdoorsy get-a-way then you have got to check out Cheaha.
